Unit Type
Fault Selective Equipment
|
|
|
|
|
At DC electrified section, this equipment judges the
difference of the current changes between the load current of rolling
stocks and the fault current caused by short circuit faults such as feeder
breaking etc., and opens a circuit breaker only when it detects the fault
current that causes fire of rolling stocks etc.
Our Fault Selective Equipment has been installed in DC electrified
substations in Japan since 1961. This Unit type is the
latest microprocessor model. You can set up the equipment only by inserting
required units for the required number of feeders, which saves unnecessary
units. Further, we offer an optional printer unit to reproduce the detected
fault current waveform.
This Unit Type Fault Selective Equipment contributes to the safe operation
at DC electrified section of JR company, private railway companies and
publicly owned railway companies.

At DC electrified section, electric power is
supplied to a rolling stock by substations on both sides in parallel. If
fault current is detected because of feeder line fault etc., power supplies
from both substations should be cut off.
This equipment is installed in substations on both sides and communicates
mutually when a fault occurs, and opens a circuit breaker to cut the power
supplies from both substations; consequently, prevents the fault from
expanding and exacerbating.
This Transfer Trip Equipment cooperates with the Fault Selective Equipment
and ensures the safety of feeding at DC electrified section. In addition,
it keeps on communicating each other while the fault continues, and
re-closes the circuit breaker automatically when the fault ends. In this
way, this equipment contributes to an early recovery of train service.

In substations at DC electrified section, a
rectifier is installed to change received alternating current into direct
current. This Reverse Current Relay detects the reverse current caused by a
fault of rectify element inside the rectifier etc., and cuts the current of
both AC receiving and DC rectifying sides of the rectifier. In this way,
this relay not only protects the rectifier but also prevents the fault from
spreading to a serious short circuit fault at feeder circuit.

DC
Voltage Detecting Relay
|
|
|
|
|
Because DC substations have complex compositions,
even if a circuit breaker is open, voltage may be impressed by current
wrap-around etc. To prevent electric shocks to human beings during track
works, it is necessary to monitor the actual voltage impressed on the
feeder line.
This DC Voltage Detecting Relay monitors the feeding voltage on the feeder
and helps the safer track works.
Particularly, YFV-3B type can make a non-contact detection of the voltage.
This is the first equipment in the industries.
