|
At AC electrified section, this equipment takes advantage
of the difference of the current changes between the load current of
rolling stocks and the fault current caused by a short circuit or a ground
fault of feeder and so on, and opens a circuit breaker only when it detects
a fault current that may cause a fire of rolling stocks and so forth.
This equipment and Fault Selective Relay for AC Feeder (explained next)
judges the fault current from the load current by detecting AC fundamental
wave or Second and Third higher harmonic waves in the fundamental wave.
In addition, this Vector type detects the difference of phase angles
between the load current and the fault current, and executes the vector
computation besides the scalar computation; as a result, it realizes much
better protection of AC electrified section with higher accuracy.

Relay for Changeover Switch (for Shinkansen)

|
|
Shinkansen (bullet train) is a single-phase AC feeding
system; and power supplies of different phases meet at substations or
sectioning posts. In order for Shinkansen to make power running (high speed
running) there, there is a power supply changeover section (approx. for
1km), where a changeover switch changes a power supply to the other power
supply of a train running direction sequentially. If a vacuum switch used
as the changeover switch flashovers, the power supply to substations is cut
off without specifying the fault point, which causes a serious disruption
for Shinkansen running with high speed.
This protective relay detects electrical breakdown of changeover switch,
which was co-developed with Railway Technical Research Institute.

When a short circuit or a ground fault occurs on feeders,
the location where the fault occurred (fault point) should be specified as
soon as possible for an early recovery from the fault. This equipment
locates a fault point on the Shinkansen AT system AC feeder circuit by
measuring AT neutral point boost up current, and transmits the data to CC
(central control center).
Also, we offer another locator of FT judging type that determines whether
the fault occurred at a feeder line or trolley line. This type contributes
to a much earlier recovery from the fault.

above-explained locator for Shinkansen AT system AC feeder circuit
In addition, we supply locators for signal high voltage distribution line
that specifys a fault point when a short circuit or ground fault occurs on
high voltage distribution lines.
